In this thesis, I am developing a hybrid AI and digital twin framework to optimize scheduling in lithium-ion pouch cell manufacturing. Using Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, I’ve built a discrete event simulation of the entire production line—from electrode processing to cell finishing. A machine learning model (Random Forest Classifier), trained on synthetic order data, predicts priority levels based on deadline, product type, and quantity. This model is integrated with a Flask-based web dashboard for real-time order intake, filtering, and priority prediction.

Key features include:

  • Simulation of all process stages using SimTalk and Python scripting

  • 1000+ synthetic orders modeled with real-world constraints

  • AI-powered order prioritization with >90% accuracy

  • Flask API and UI for real-time prediction and data export

  • Ongoing integration of simulation feedback for adaptive scheduling

The project aims to bridge industrial simulation with intelligent decision-making, paving the way for smart manufacturing systems that can dynamically respond to customer demands and production constraints.

This internship provided me with valuable insights and practical experience, laying a strong foundation for my future endeavors in machine learning and AI development.
